In the past, “Solar Boat” was played during the journey of a SOLAR-powered boat transporting people from the mainland to DESERTA island.
“Solar Boat” is a sound work made from recordings of PRIVATE conversations ALTERED through sound effects.
In this environment, these recordings are UNKNOWN landscapes that can be inhabited as INTIMATE and familiar through sensing and BEING PRESENT — an ACT involving the whole BODY .
Combining SOUND, LIGHT, WARMTH, space, TIME, image, — and their ABSENCE — “Solar” operates a deceleration and SUSPENSION of movement.
Musa paradisiaca is a collaborative art practice exploring sculpture, installation and interdisciplinary projects. We work collectively to create experiences that blur boundaries between mediums, ideas and audiences.
"Taxonomy can no longer serve as a measure of truth".
